A movie being slightly self-aware like that makes it more likeable in my eyes. Then again, when they get too self aware, ala Deadpool or Kingsman ("a cliche bad guy would do this, but I'm going to do this), then I find it kind of obnoxious.I guess there's a bit of a balancing act involved.
